Colonial Country Club is one of the most iconic venues in professional golf, as Ben Hogan’s fabled Alley is the site of the longest running non-major tour event held at the same course. The Fort Worth track has seen the game’s top players over the years and was also the site of Annika Sorenstam’s groundbreaking PGA Tour debut in 58 years. This week’s 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge will be no different, as the tournament tees off on Thursday, June 11 with the top five players in the world set to compete.

Rory McIlroy, the reigning FedExCup champ and world No. 1, is the favorite at 15-2 in the current 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge odds at William Hill. Before locking in any 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge picks of your own or entering any PGA DFS tournaments on sites like FanDuel and DraftKings, be sure to check out the predictions and projected leaderboard from the team at SportsLine.

SportsLine’s prediction model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has nailed two of the last three majors entering the weekend. It predicted Gary Woodland’s first career major championship at the U.S. Open even though he wasn’t the favorite entering the weekend. The result: Woodland held off a late charge from Brooks Koepka and won by three strokes. The model also called Koepka’s historic victory at the 2019 PGA Championship, predicting he’d hold his lead in the home stretch.

In all, their advanced computer model has nailed a whopping six majors entering the weekend. And already this season, the model called Justin Thomas (15-2) winning the CJ Cup, Rory McIlroy (11-2) taking down the WGC-HSBC Champions and Viktor Hovland (11-1) earning his first career PGA Tour victory at the Puerto Rico Open. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

Now that the Charles Schwab Challenge 2020 field is locked, SportsLine simulated the event 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the full projected leaderboard.

The model’s top 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge predictions

One huge shocker the model is calling for: Bryson DeChambeau, a five-time PGA Tour winner and one of the top Vegas favorites, stumbles and doesn’t even crack the top five.

DeChambeau is getting low Charles Schwab Challenge odds 2020 this week because he finished fifth or better in the final three PGA Tour events he played in prior to the hiatus. But he also finished 52nd at the Phoenix Open in February and started the 2019-20 PGA Tour season by missing the cut in a Military Tribute at The Greenbrier.

DeChambeau struggled mightily at this event last May, firing back-to-back rounds of 72 and missing the cut. His 60.44 percent driving accuracy ranks 122nd on Tour this season, and that should put him in tough positions this weekend, making him one of the 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge favorites to avoid.

Another surprise: Brooks Koepka, a 28-1 long shot, makes a strong run at the title. He has a much better chance to win it all than his

odds imply, so he’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday.

The third-ranked player in the word, Koepka has already won seven times on the PGA Tour and captured four major championships before his 30th birthday. Koepka’s 2019-20 season was paused by a knee injury in October that kept him out of the Presidents Cup, and he didn’t return to action until February.

The coronavirus pandemic allowed Koepka to rest longer, and he should be fully refreshed for Colonial. Koepka has only played in Fort Worth once, but he almost walked away with the coveted plaid jacket in 2018 when he fired a final-round 63 to finish second behind Justin Rose. A championship-caliber player any time he tees it up, the model sees Koepka has a major value play in the 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge field.

How to make 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge picks

Also, the model says four other golfers with odds of 28-1 or longer will make a strong run at the title, including a massive long shot who’s higher than 40-1. Anyone who backs these underdogs could hit it big. You can only see them here.

So who wins the 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge? And which long shots stun the golfing world? Check out the odds below and visit SportsLine now to see the projected 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge leaderboard, all from the model that’s nailed six golf majors, and find out.
